The intriguing thing about Honig’s two cuvees of Cabernet Sauvignon is that the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Bartolucci Vineyard is a good, solid effort, but is very tannic as well as slightly hard and sinewy. This winery is forever associated with their Sauvignon Blanc program, which is one of the most successful in California. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Bartolucci Vineyard is impressive. This deep ruby/purple-hued effort offers aromas of cedar, subtle toasty oak, black currants, sweet cherries, and loamy soil.
