The Reciotos from Soave are an excellent choice for readers who want a sweet wine that is not overly heavy or intense. Gini’s 2004 Recioto di Soave Col Foscarin is made from fruit that was air-dried for six months prior to being vinified, and was aged in French oak. It is a pretty, floral Recioto with notes of dried apricots, dried figs and spices. Medium in body, it is a delicious, accessible dessert wine to enjoy now and over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2010.
Gini produces excellent Soaves in a generous, fruity, easy-going style. Most of the Soaves are made with 100% Garganega and the estate’s top selections are made from old-vine fruit.
