Few wineries in California any longer produce this Chardonnay-like French variety, but Dutton-Goldfield continues to do a good job. It has a creamy texture, with flavors of peaches, green apples, pears, vanilla and cinnamon spice. With no oak, it’s a clean, crisply acidic wine. — (8/1/2009) —87

Rich and creamy, with forward flavors of oranges, vanilla, cinnamon, honey and creme brulee, this wine will be nice in the place of Chardonnay. It’s not quite as dry or complex as the very good ’06, but flatters for its opulence. — (11/1/2008) —87
