The 2019 Pinot Noir Califa, matured for 14 months in 40% new French oak, has a medium ruby color and abundant red berry fruit on the nose, with accents of black tea leaves, dried tobacco, flint and woodsmoke. The medium-bodied palate is lean and fresh, with a satisfying core of crunchy fruits, abundant, grainy tannins and a long, earth-laced finish. 700 cases were made.

Pale to medium ruby purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir Califa gives up smoked cranberries, warm wild blackberries, blood orange, dried earth and a classy framing of new oak spice with nuances of dried orange peel, dried rose petals and autumn leaves. The palate is medium-bodied, silky and intense with a great interplay of bright fruits, spices and earth character. It has a frame of finely grained tannins and very well-woven juicy acidity, finishing long and lifted.
