Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo make up the Tenuta di Capezzana 2016 Carmignano Riserva Trefiano. This expression shows poise and balance with dark fruit, leather, spice and tobacco. Fruit from a classic vintage has shaped a wine with classic lines. The blended reds of Carmignano offer distinctive richness and dark fruit intensity. This wine faithfully mirrors that sense of place. Dusty mineral notes appear on the close.

In the 2015 Carmignano Riserva Trefiano, Sangiovese (80%) is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo. This wine offers steady elegance and a compact, crisp approach that comes from the two Tuscan grapes. That small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, on the other hand, adds textual richness and firm tannins. This is a beautifully fleshed out and generous red wine from a very warm and sunny vintage in Tuscany. Some 13,000 bottles were made. The first vintage made was 1979, and fruit is sourced from the Trefiano vineyard surrounding the estate's Renaissance villa.

Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo are at the base of the 2013 Carmignano Riserva Trefiano. The wine delivers a dark fruit profile with dried blackberry, plum and currant. What leaves an even bigger mark on the bouquet, however, are those savory tones of spice and bitter chocolate. This wine offers tight texture that forms a firm grip on the palate.

Sangiovese (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo are the main blending components in the 2010 Carmignano Riserva Trefiano. This is a dark and savory wine that boasts penetrating tones of black currant and prune with evolved aromas of licorice and Indian spice. Grapes are sourced from a five-hectare single vineyard near the Villa di Trefiano, after which the wine is named. The mouthfeel is sophisticated and smokey.
