Like Il Preliminare, the 2014 La Raccolta is primarily red Aglianico grapes vinified as a white wine. The Vulture volcano is so tightly associated with the mighty Aglianico grape and there aren't many white grape varieties locally available to those winemakers looking to round off their portfolio of reds. La Raccolta shows a bigger, bolder style with a light gold color and pretty aromas of honeysuckle, peach, white flower and crushed mineral. It shows pretty textural richness and just a touch of tannic power that is characteristics of this grape. This bold white wine would pair with white meats or Béchamel sauce.
