The 2006 Lambrusco dell’Emilia is a powerful, intense wine. The fruit dominates the wine’s balance at this stage as it remains only lightly sparkling, and the fizz goes away rather quickly in the glass. What remains is a big, strapping wine loaded with dark fruit, not to mention considerable appeal. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
This small, artisan estate is located outside Parma. The vineyards are farmed organically and the wines are made in a very unmanipulated manner, with natural yeasts, skin contact during fermentation (even for the whites) and no fining.
