The 2009 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard has benefitted from early bottling. Its medium dark ruby hue is accompanied by scents of boysenberries, cherries and a touch of spice. A medium-bodied Pinot with lovely up-front fruit, impressive purity and no hard edges, it is a delicious, already complex red to drink over the next 4-5 years. It’s hard to believe that Barnett Vineyards is already 27 years old. Located on a beautiful hillside high on Spring Mountain, they have branched out from their original Cabernet program to include Chardonnays and, more recently, Pinot Noirs, all of which merit attention.Tel. Ripe, soft and oaky. Although the flavors are absolutely delicious, you find yourself wishing there were greater structure. Offers waves of raspberries, cherries, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla and butterscotch, with a dry, spicy finish.——S.H.(6/1/2010)—— 88
