Sweet scents of tobacco, crushed flowers, savory herbs, worn-in leather, anise and spices emerge from the 2009 Pinot Noir Talley Rosemary’s. The aromas and flavors are already a touch forward, which suggests the 2009 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. The Rosemary’s was made with 100% whole clusters. The 2008 Pinot Noir Talley Rincon is a fairly straightforward, juicy Pinot with lovely varietal fruit framed by subtle hints of spiciness and sweet French oak. The Rincon possesses excellent freshness and minerality in a medium-bodied style best suited for near-term drinking. This is a beautiful, understated Pinot from Au Bon Climat. The Rincon was aged in 100% new barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Jim Clendenen is one of the pioneers of the Central Coast.
