A pure expression of Sardinia's beloved Carignano grape, the 2015 Carignano del Sulcis Riserva Is Solinas is softly textured and packed tight with purple and black fruits. Those substantial aromas are highlighted this vintage, awash in warmth and sunny luminosity. It presents a second aromatic front with some light spice, tar and tobacco. Some 25,000 bottles were produced.

The 2014 Carignano del Sulcis Riserva Is Solinas offers a steady and classic interpretation of one of the main red grapes that characterizes Sardinian wine. Fruit is fermented in stainless steel and is later aged in oak for 12 months. This easy and straightforward approach means that the primary fruit is left well intact. Dark cherry and dried blackberry segue to subtle aromas of spice and tar. The style is full, generous and soft in texture.

The 2008 Isola dei Nuraghi Is Solinas is predominantly Carignano from the Sulcis appellation. It shows the more muscular side of Carignano in its plush dark fruit. Brighter notes on the finish add lift and freshness. The Is Solinas can be enjoyed with minimum cellaring but needs to be opened in advance to allow for some of the oakiness to blow off. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016.
