The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is a charming wine that opens tasting of classic Cabernet (even though there is a tiny amount of Syrah included). It seems impeccably balanced. The only thing missing is structure, and a reasonable amount of that is provided with air. The tannins are well integrated, and support the wine without interfering with the feeling of harmony. It improved for about an hour, and held well for awhile after that. This has a somewhat earthy, old world feel to it. It does seem to be aging quickly, and appears ready to drink at age four, even though there is always the sense of lurking power. If this is likely going nowhere in particular with more cellaring, it should hold quite gracefully for several more years. It is a pleasure to drink. Drink now-2012.
