Blended with 7% Cabernet Franc and matured for 15 months in 25% new French oak, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is understated and very drinkable. Medium ruby, it has pure scents of red cherries, vanilla, dried herbs and chocolate. The medium-bodied palate is supple, spicy and fresh with a satisfying finish. This overdelivers for the price! 1,275 cases were produced.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium to deep ruby color with spicy wild blackberries, blackcurrants, kirsch, pepper and cedar on the nose plus touches of tobacco, dried herbs, potpourri and red fruit sparks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is classically styled with restrained red and black fruits and loads of spices. It has a firm, fine-grained frame and seamless freshness on the long, nuanced finish.

A little on the sweetish side, which may be due to residual sugar and/or excessively high alcohol. Either way, it tastes like black cherry jam and pepper.——S.H.(12/15/2011)—— 85
