The 2004 Cuvee Palomar consists of equal parts Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 18 months in French oak. Dark crimson-colored, the aromatics are slightly muted but notes of cedar, Asian spices, balsamic, black currant, and blackberry can be discerned. This is followed by a full-bodied, fleshy wine with firm tannins, spicy flavors, and a long, powerful finish. It will evolve for 4-6 years and drink well through 2020. The 2001 Cuvee Palomar is 50% Tempranillo and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards situated on limestone. It was aged for 18 months in new French oak and bottled without filtration. It is dark ruby in color with aromas of black cherries and cassis intermixed with pain grille and espresso roast.
