A 100% varietal wine, the 2014 Petite Sirah Tierra comes from the Theopolis vineyard in the Yorkville Highlands (this was previously used by Carlisle and is close to Paul's Halcon site) and was aged in 25% new French oak. It sports a deep ruby/purple color as well as terrific notes of black and blue fruits, tobacco leaf, licorice and chalky minerality. Rich, textured and full-bodied, with beautiful purity of fruit, it has enough texture and richness to shine even today, but I suspect it will evolve for 10-15 years.
