Warning! This offering is exceptionally oaky, so readers who do not want a blatant dosage of pain grille/toasty smoke in their wines should avoid it. The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve supports the wood, even though it is lavishly oaked. The color is a dense ruby/purple. In addition to the wood, the wine reveals creamy blackberry and cassis flavors intermixed with smoke and licorice. Thick, rich, and medium to full-bodied, with low acidity, this garish, ostentatiously-styled Cabernet can be drunk now, but promises to be slightly more civilized with another 2-3 years of bottle age.
