The marvelous 2001 Revelation Red is a full-throttle, seamless 2001 boasting a dense purple color to the rim along with a gorgeously exotic, expressive perfume of black cherry liqueur, cassis, balsam wood, spice box, and pepper, an opulent texture, tremendous reserves of fruit and glycerin, beautiful balance, and a long, heady finish. A hedonistic as well as intellectual success, it promises to drink well for 5-8 years. Bravo! Epiphany is the relatively new label from Fess Parker’s son/winemaker, Eli, who is also responsible for the Fess Parker offerings, which have demonstrated a dramatic progression in quality over the last 4-5 vintages.
