Obviously label design and packaging do not count when it comes to evaluating a wine. Nevertheless, good quality wine deserves something better than the appalling, cheap-looking bottle and silly label with opening instructions ("turn the corkscrew clockwise"). Inside the distressingly designed bottle is a delicious, tasty, open-knit, exuberantly fruity Zinfandel that is meant to be drunk over the next 2-3 years. The wine is soft and round, with plenty of berry fruit. If you don't get indigestion from looking at the bottle or reading the prose on the back label, readers may even enjoy the wine more than I did.
